(TT-0001) CS 23: A Performance-based Approach to Type Certification of Small Aeroplanes
(Rev. 6)This training provides information about the Objective-Based Approach to the Type Certification of Normal-Category Aeroplanes. With the adoption of CS-23 Amendment 5, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency, moved to a performance-driven approach to certification for CS-23 aircraft. The revised rule requires the applicant to use means of compliance accepted by the Agency. This approach distinguishes the revised CS-23 not only from previous versions of CS-23, but also from the other certification standards that govern aircraft certification. This training was developed to explain the unique nature of these objective-based rules.
